Remembering Emma

The ICON of the Holy Trinity was painted by the then vicar, The Rev Brian Bessant in memory of Emma Page who was tragically taken from us on the 30th September 1993, at the age of 17.

Emma loved the Old Parish church and as a mission of love, produced one of the visitor leaflets which form the basis of our most recent leaflet produced in 2019.

The ICON is located at the West end of the nave on the right-hand wall before entering the Sanctuary, with Emma’s name clearly depicted. The ICON is the focal point for the lighting of candles – in memoriam.

The metal gates at the entrance to the Narthex or vestibule were also made to honour Emma’s memory. On close inspection, the letter “e” for Emma can be seen at the centre of the circular handles.
